PSC is the only rail switching contractor to receive OSHA’s VPP STAR rating. Our rail switching operations have also received award recognitions from the major railroad companies for zero non-accidental releases (NARs), including:

  • BNSF Product Stewardship Award
  • Canadian Pacific Safety Award
  • CN Safe Handling Award
  • CSX Chemical Safety Excellence Award
  • Kansas City Southern HARP Safety Award
  • Norfolk Southern Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Award
  • Union Pacific Chemical Transportation Safety Pinnacle Award

PSC is a two-time winner of the William M. Benkert Award, the U.S. Coast Guard’s premier national award for marine environmental protection.


AFPM Contractor Safety Awards
At the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) national conference held on May 17-18, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas, SGS Petroleum Service Corporation was awarded the Contractor Meritorious Safety Performance Award for 25 member sites. This is the largest number of AFPM contractor awards that PSC has received in a single year.

Gulf Coast Safety Council Award
At the Gulf Coast Safety Council’s annual awards banquet held on April 19, 2016 in Luling, Louisiana, SGS Petroleum Service Corporation received a Contractor Safety Excellence Award, first place in our division. We were nominated for this award our our outstanding safety performance at six Gulf region sites.

GBRIA Contractor Safety Award
SGS Petroleum Service Corporation received a first place Contractor Safety Award from the Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance (GBRIA) in the Technical Support (Large) classification. The award was presented at a banquet held on March 15, 2016 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We were nominated for this award for our outstanding safety performance at nine sites in southeast Louisiana.
